![]() Now, once you get control of your base get to work on the vehicle improvements at the armory right away. With 4 SCVs healing this thing it is all but invincible.ĭuring the opening bit, use the Odin to wipe out the southern (bottom right) base. Do this and you should complete the mission in about 17-19 minutes. You can also build some air defense towers if you have the resources and time-this helped me a lot. Make sure you bring some air defenses as they will use battle cruisers for this one. Once those towers are done, use what's left from the strike forces to hit the last base. Use the Odin and a couple of thors to hit the base to the north, and use a reasonably large force to hit the base to the west (air base). By now you should have a large infantry force (if you completed some of the artifact missions before and have the siege tank, it's even easier but I did it without). ![]() Now here's the tricky part: The only way you're going to finish the mission in less than 20 minutes is if you hit two of the towers at the same time. Build a couple of thors to support the Odin, but not too many since they're expensive and you need the resources to build a strike force. Use the Odin and the thor that you get to take out what's left of the light armor base, but don't take out the news towers yet (they will hit you hard once you do, with off map reinforcements).Īfter you're done with that, focus on taking out the air base. At this point, your base only needs heavy air defenses since only the airport base remains intact. When the mission starts and you get control of your base, quickly repair the Odin and build at least three barracks. Go to the light armor base (righthand side of the map) and take out as much as you can from that base. Do it quickly using the Odin's artillery ability (you don't have to wipe the entire base out, just take out the production buildings) and then you should have enough time left to destroy some more buildings. ![]() The base on the left has air power, the base on the right side of the map has light armor and infantry, and the largest base on the opposite side of yours has heavy armor.ĭuring the surprise attack phase (lasts four minutes), you have to take out the base that produces the heavy armor. As you may have noticed, each base focuses on a specific unit type. This is the most important part of the mission as your choice will greatly impact the difficulty of it. Okay, as soon as the mission starts you have the chance to take out one of the three bases during the surprise attack. Multiplayer guides for Terran, Protoss, and Zerg deserve their own section and those will be created in the near future. This one is tough but after some experimenting I managed to get it. This guide focuses on SC2′s Wings of Liberty campaign, not multiplayer. Obviously multiple play throughs will be required to unlock all of these due to the credit limit. SC2 Achievement hunters should know that buying all the upgrades in any of these categories will unlock the Base, Infantry, Vehicle, Starship, and Dominion Tech Master achievements. The Mercenaires you hire will benefit from all related unit upgrades. None of the units unlocked that way have upgrades at the Armory. When those become available is highly variable based on what path you’ve taken through the campaign. The only units not listed are those that are researched at the Hyperion lab. This list will also tell you what mission you need to do to unlock each unit, period. The last of this special variety of upgrade to be unlocked are the Terran building specials, by mission 12. The ability to buy upgrades for a unit is unlocked along with that unit in the campaign, although some come along based on how many total missions you’ve completed. Some upgrades are safe to buy because you’re pretty much guaranteed to lean on them no matter your playstyle. ![]() It’s not worth upgrading the Helion’s flamethrower if you’ll never use the unit. One thing to keep in mind before buying any upgrade is how often you’ll use that unit. Credits in Starcraft 2 WoL’s campaign mode are limited after all. Listed for each unit are the credit cost of the upgrade, what it does, and whether I think the technology is worth buying. In this Wings of Liberty Guide, I’ll list the upgrades for all Terran units available at Hyperion’s Armory. ![]()
